John Kiriakou (CIA Whistleblower)

Protect Whistleblower John Kiriakou, recipient of the Sonoma Peace & Justice Center's Peacemaker of the Year Award for 2013!

2014-01-22 message from "Sonoma Peace & Justice Center" [www.peaceandjusticesonomaco.org]:
Former CIA officer and torture whistleblower John Kiriakou had a deal with the Bureau of Prisons: he would stop writing "Letters from Loretto," decline the press and drop his complaints in exchange for 9 months in a halfway house.
But in a new letter, John says prison officials are going back on their deal to have him out by August 2014. Now they are threatening to keep him in prison for 6 months longer than they originally promised. Sensing that the situation has become "political in nature," John has decided to end his silence and fight back, and we're standing with him.
In a matter of weeks, Erlinda Hernandez at the BOP will decide whether John will go to the halfway house or remain in prison for longer than he was promised. CAN YOU PLEASE WRITE HER A LETTER IMMEDIATELY AND ASK FOR JOHN KIRIAKOU TO BE MOVED TO THE HALFWAY HOUSE FOR 9 MONTHS?

THE ADDRESS IS:
Erlinda Hernandez
Bureau of Prisons
Residential Reentry Office
P.O. Box 7000
Butner, NC 27509
IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE COPY:
Mr. Charles Samuels
Director of Bureau of Prisons
320 First St. NW
Washington, DC 20534

YOUR LETTER SHOULD BE SIMPLE AND TO-THE-POINT: John Kiriakou is a patriotic American who blew the whistle on war crimes. He has been an exceptional prisoner and deserves to be at home with his wife and five children, not in a federal penitentiary. Please give John Kiriakou 9 months in a halfway house so that he will be released by August 2014.
Hernandez and the Bureau of Prisons will be deciding John's fate at the end of this month. Please write to them immediately in support of their original deal.
Thanks for all you do.
